ROAR Projects
Reducing Overdose, Abbotsford Response is part of a movement dedicated to creating a better future for people at risk due to the poisoned illicit drug supply. Treating people who use substances with love and respect will make our community better for everyone.
2023: 7 in 7/ Empty Chair Campaign
ROAR advocated with Moms Stop the Harm to bring awareness leading up to the 7th Anniversary of the "Opioid Public Health Emergency". The death rate has doubled in those 7 years. These are preventable deaths from a poisoning of the illicit supply. We know the science-based solutions: access to safer supply, harm reduction, accessible treatment options and most of all evidence-based drug policy. We don't want any more empty chairs at the table.
2023: Community Dialogues
ROAR values the input and support of our community members and we have dialogues in the works for 2023. To receive updates with dates and events, please be sure to subscribe, or contact us for more information.
2022: Empty Chair Campaign
Each year, ROAR joins Moms Stop the Harm in their Empty Chair campaign. This movement raises awareness by creating a public art piece featuring empty chairs representing the missing family members who no longer gather at their dinner table.
